Santo Spirito Church and Ponte Vecchio

L'ispirazione tra le architetture e l'artigianato

Inspiration from Florence: Santo Spirito and Ponte Vecchio

Next, I couldn’t help but draw inspiration from the Church of Santo Spirito, a constant source of inspiration for many artisans and artists, not only woodworkers.

In my various works, I also tried to use rare marbles and semiprecious stones to represent the rose window on the upper façade. My friend Simone, a semiprecious stone inlayer, provided me with these rose windows, and his workshop is near Ponte Vecchio.

After Santo Spirito, Florence’s Ponte Vecchio also inspired me to create two panels with relief houses inspired by its ancient workshops.

In the first Ponte Vecchio piece, the background is in the natural green of the Tulipwood, while in the second, I preferred to color the wood blue.

A third panel, also inspired by Ponte Vecchio, is in progress and almost finished, awaiting the final solution for the background in which it will be inserted.
