I’ve been teaching for 40 years, and in the past, the idea of holding a short workshop on wood inlay techniques seemed absurd to me.
I couldn’t fathom the idea of having people work for such a short time.
Then one day in 2019, the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d’Art asked me to organize a workshop in Milan at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, so I wanted to try to find a suitable solution forthis three-hour experience.
And then, in the end, I saw that the people were satisfied, and so was I.
And now that they organize these workshops, I know that the tourists who come to me for thisexperience, even for a few hours, in an ancient workshop in Florence’s Oltrarno area, take away a special, unique memory.
And I’m happy to see their enthusiasm.
